Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship


The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors the Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship to support the children of our warriors. These scholarships are awarded to 15 students annually who excel in academics and volunteer in their communities.

Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.  This scholarship  will be awarded to high achieving students with financial need; applicants must have achieved a 3.5 GPA and have a gross household income for 2022 not exceeding $100,000.

FEEA Scholarship


Since 1986, FEEA has given over 11,000 merit-based scholarships to federal public servants, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. An additional nearly 200 scholarships to surviving children whose federal employee parents died or were severely injured in the line of duty during terrorist attacks, such as those on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, the Pentagon on 9-11, and the US Embassies and Consulates in Kenya, Tanzania, and Libya.

 New River Valley Home Builders Association's 2024 Rick Whitney Memorial Scholarship


The mission of the New River Valley Home Builders Association Scholarship Committee is to support the future growth of the Construction Industry by providing aid to deserving students enrolled in construction-related studies at Virginia’s Universities, Colleges, Trade Schools and within Working Internships. We will present a scholarship of $1,000 to a graduating senior from one of the following municipalities who is interested in entering the Construction Industry. Students who show a desire to pursue a home-building-related career in the above list of municipalities upon graduation will be given preference above other applicants.

Navy League Foundation Scholarship


The Navy League Foundation offers scholarships to high school seniors who will attend an accredited institution of higher education in the fall of the current award cycle. Applicants must be the dependent or direct descendant of a current or former member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or U.S.-Flag Merchant Marines or an active member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

USDA 1890 National Scholars Program

The USDA/1890 National Scholar Program is aimed at bolstering educational and career opportunities for students from rural or underserved communities around the country. It was established in 1992 as part of the partnership between USDA and the 1890 land-grant universities. Virginia Council on Women 12th Annual STEAM-H Essay and Scholarship Contest

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to share the opportunity provided by the Virginia Council on Women's 12th Annual STEAM-H Essay and Scholarship Contest. The scholarship contest aims to support the aspirations and goals of Virginia high school females who plan to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and healthcare.

In addition to being a Virginia resident and female high school senior, applicants must plan to attend an institution of higher education and meet the GPA requirements based on merit or need-based submission category, to be eligible. Essay submissions will be judged by members of the Council and members of the STEM-H community. All essay submissions must be received by March 15, 2023.

Latino Actuaries Scholarship Program


The Organization of Latino Actuaries (OLA) furthers its mission of increasing the number of Latine actuaries by awarding academic scholarships to Latines who will be attending a US college/university next school year and are interested in the actuarial profession.   The scholarship applications are open from January 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024.

Applications are evaluated on various criteria including, but not limited to, academic performance, commitment to pursuing the actuarial profession, exam progress, work experience, and leadership experience. Finalists for both the named and general scholarships are expected to be selected by mid-June.

Rotary Club of Blacksburg - Outstanding Science / Math Student Award

This award is to encourage good personal character, the pursuit of Math or Science careers among MCPS students, and includes a $1,000 college scholarship.  The award will recognize outstanding Math or Science seniors, who also exhibit Rotary’s ideal of Service Above Self.  This award is to encourage good personal character and Math or Science careers among MCPS students. Proper ethics, character, service to others, past Math or Science achievements, and your further pursuit of a Math or Science education will weigh heavily in the selection process.

Rotary Club of Blacksburg - Outstanding CTE Student Award

This award is to encourage good personal character and vocational careers among CTE students, and includes a $1,000 scholarship. The selection criteria will be based on CTE academic achievements and citizenship excellence.  Nominees must be planning to attend a community college, vocational school or technical school next fall to complete an Associate Degree (or similar) in a CTE or Vocational studies. This award is to encourage good personal character and CTE careers among MCPS students. Therefore, proper ethics, character, service to others, past CTE achievements and your further pursuit of a CTE, Technical or Vocational education will weigh heavily in the selection process. 

Students must work with a teacher to submit both a student application and a teacher nomination.

2023 WSLS Scholarship

Are you a college-bound, graduating high school senior? Have demonstrated success in academics and sports, including activity competitions, marching band or volunteering? WSLS wants to hear from you for the amazing chance to receive a $2,000 scholarship to be awarded to two college-bound high school seniors.

“We’ve created this scholarship to reward students for not only excelling academically but also for what they have accomplished beyond the classroom. Students who are passionate about public service and participate in activities like sports, music, and theater often demonstrate qualities of responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Those are the qualities we want to reward,” according to WSLS General Manager and Vice-President Jaimie León.

2023 Granville P. Meade Scholarship

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is announcing the Granville P. Meade Scholarship that provides financial assistance to students who have achieved academically but are financially unable to attend college. The Granville P. Meade fund awards scholarships to eligible Virginia high school seniors to attend one of Virginia’s public or private colleges or universities. The scholarship award is anticipated to be in the amount of $2,000 per year for four years, provided the student continues to meet the scholarship requirements. Applications will be completed, submitted, and reviewed via an online application portal. All students interested in applying must create an account to access the application, request letters of recommendation, and upload academic records.

The Junior League of Roanoke Valley - Scholarship Opportunity

The Junior League of Roanoke Valley, Inc. established the Mary Terry Goodwin Kuyk Volunteer Scholarship in 1987 in honor of our first president. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize young people who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service and academic success in the Roanoke and New River Valleys. Each year they award two scholarships up to $2,000 each to graduating, college-bound, high school students who have exhibited outstanding volunteerism and academic success.

The Gloria Wille Bell and Carols R Bell Scholarship Program for the University of Michigan

Bell Scholarships are merit-based scholarships intended to enhance recruitment efforts for academically talented students pursuing undergraduate science-related degrees. Eligible students must hold a 3.0 GPA, live in VA, with a preference given to residents of Gloucester, Virginia. be accepted at University of Michigan, and plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or another related scientific field.
