Community Foundation of the New River Valley Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation of the NRV manages 50 different scholarship funds and awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors and college students once a year. Each scholarship fund has different application requirements, eligibility criteria, and available funding levels.

These are local scholarships and there are a number that are only available to BHS students.

2023 BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship Awards

BBB promotes integrity and ethics in the marketplace through voluntary business self-regulation. The 20th  Annual Student of Integrity Scholarship competition honors local high school seniors who personify ethics through leadership, community service, and actions. 

Essay-Based Entry Awarding Several $1,000 Scholarships:

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship application is now open for graduating, minority seniors! JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $30,000 over four years. GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program


The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship offers college scholarships of up to $40,000 for high school seniors nationwide

who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.

Mensa US Scholarship

There are three primary sections students will be evaluated on during the review process.

Essay Writing: 40%

Extracurricular Activities: 30%

Leadership Roles: 30%
