The Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming by David Wallace-Wells, Deputy Editor, New York Times magazine, national fellow, New America foundation. This book can be used as an introduction to many of the potential crises looming as a result of Climate change. Wallace-Wells writes in a clear style, is direct and has many facts to support his warnings. He covers flooding, fires, food shortage, illness, social displacement, species extinction, unrest and the fight for resources that are all potential consequences of our taking no action. Students can read one chapter or the entire book.

This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs The Climate by Naomi Klein. Klein, who has written extensively on the proximity and enormity of the climate crisis takes a new a pragmatic approach to the problem that coincides with our mission. She admits that some changes will not happen- human nature forbids it- but approaching the problem with redefining the rules of our systems and rethinking our way of life in a non combative, no winner take all approach can yield a pathway to a viable future.
