TIPS FOR JAM

Our first National Jam will take place on January 17. It will be an opportunity to get to know one another and a first try at talking about 100 Years Out across the country. It will be taking place in DISCORD. The Jam will be divided into2 focus questions : The first ROOM will be a getting acquainted space and the second will feature resources about current issues that threaten the planet and our communities. Starting time is 4 pm EDT and ending at 10 pm. Students are invited to continue posting comments, respond to one another and add links throughout the weekend.

Here are some tips to Jamming.

1. When you enter the room go to

2. READ READ READ what is already in the Jam. If you would like to reply to a specific post, you can respond directly under the last comment.

3. If you are responding to an earlier post, please indicate at the beginning of your post, the PERSON who posted the comment you are addressing.

4. Don’t just “like” posts. If you really like it, why? What can you add? If you disagree, let us know.

5. Don’t just post and run. Think of how you act when you are with your friends. . you don’t just say something and walk away. You wait and see what they have to say. So even if you do leave for a bit, come back and see what others have to say about your comment.

6. Add stuff! If you know about an article, a song, a photo, a story, a video that pertains to the conversation-please share it with us and tell us why.

7. Get personal-but be polite.

8. Always be appropriate with language, reaction and material you share. But be fun and be honest. I know you can do both.

9. Check in often and have fun.
