Getting Started

A Brief Invitational Letter from your Host School

Dear Youth Leaders,

We want this year’s National Youth Leadership Conference to inspire a desire for knowledge and a path towards understanding our climate crisis and its impact on humanity. We want you to engage with key issues of survival, adaptation, and equity in your own communities as it relates to environmental issues, the Warming and its current and future challenges. We want you to design innovative, creative solutions to our most critical survival challenges in our communities that are multifaceted and holistic: personal, cultural, social, scientific, innovative, and politic. We want to spur creative and imaginative problem solving around survival for the next century.

We are thinking about building a sustainable and equitable future.

We are thinking about survival.

We want not only to survive the present, but thrive into the future.

100 Years Out.

Welcome to the National Student Leadership Conference 2020.

Yours in Trust and Confidence,

The Mavericks
