Voice

At McKinnon students can learn both classical and contemporary voice. Students generally do not start vocal lessons before Year 8, however they may join the core vocal ensemble, Junior Singers, in Year 7. This ensemble takes place on Thursdays at lunchtime. 

In year 8 and 9, students can join the East Choir, which runs on Mondays at lunchtime. This is compulsory for year 8 and 9 vocal students, but is open to students who do not take vocal lessons at McKinnon.

In senior school (year 10-12), students can join McKinnon Choir, which is a core ensemble for senior vocal students. There is also Senior Singers which is a smaller group for advanced vocalists. These ensembles both run on Tuesdays, with Choir at lunch and Senior Singers after school.
