Flute is the one wind instrument you blow across, not into.
The flute is the highest in pitch of the woodwind family, and features in many different types of music. Flute students at McKinnon start by playing in Year 7 Band and have many playing opportunities as they progress through the program. After a few years' experience with the flute, some students opt to play piccolo as well.
