Principal Clarinet, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra
Principal Clarinet with the TSO since 2012, Andrew Seymour studied with Robert Schubert at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) where he completed a Bachelor of Music Performance in 2001. He was active as a freelance musician in Melbourne, having performed with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra, Australian Classical Players and Lyric Opera of Melbourne, as well as The Phantom of the Opera and Dr Zhivago.
Between 2009 and 2011 he toured nationally as a member of the orchestra for OzOpera, Opera Australia’s touring company. In 2014 Andrew was featured in recital on ABC Classic FM’s Sunday Live program, his performance praised by Limelight Magazine as “soaring and colourful” and by the Hobart Mercury as “an astonishing display of instrumental virtuosity.”
Recently, Andrew has performed as guest principal Clarinet with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, West Australian and Canberra Symphony Orchestras. He has also performed as guest principal E-flat clarinet with the Queensland and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras.
In 2016 Andrew made his solo debut with the TSO performing the Copland Clarinet Concerto under the baton of Chief Conductor Marko Letonja. His performance was described by the Hobart Mercury as “sensitive and beautifully shaded” and “gloriously vibrant."
London Klezmer Quartet
Indra discovered the wonderful world of the bass after graduating from the Victorian College of Arts as a classical violinist. Touring throughout Europe, Indra has played at the Edinburgh and Galway festivals, and in Australia has appeared at major festivals including Woodford, the Falls Festival, Earthcore and the National Folk Festival. She played bass for the gypsy trio ‘Vardos’ for six years and is currently a member of an exciting new Balkans quartet ‘Byzantine Blue’.
Indra joined the London Klezmer Quartet for their debut 2012 Australian tour, touring and performing with them as often as possible. She continues to explore many facets of world music.
Soprano
Elena Xanthoudakis studied at the VCA, University of Melbourne and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, on scholarship, where she received her second Masters of Music with distinction. Elena also undertook studies in part of the young artist programme at the Maggio Musicale, Firenze and the Harewood Young Artist Programme ENO. Elena was awarded a Solti Foundation Award to undertake Italian language studies in Florence and has participated in masterclasses at the Opera Studio at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome with La Signora Scotto.
Elena has won numerous first prizes in competitions in Australia and Internationally, including winning the Maria Callas International Grand Prix, and the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and both the female first-prize and overall Grand prize in the International Adam Didur Opera Singers Competition, Poland. Other International prizes include being a multi-laureate at the Jeunesse Musicales – Voix, Montreal, Canada and is a prize-winner in Placido Domingo’s Operalia. She has performed throughout Australia, the UK, Ireland, throughout Italy in concerts and recitals, as well as in Japan, Hong-Kong, St Petersburg, Montreal, Quebec-City, Germany and in the USA.
Elena gave a Masterclass at McKinnon in 2018. In the photo above she is working with VCE student Chloe James, who is following in Elena's footsteps and now studies Opera at the Melbourne University.

Harry is widely known as a singer-songwriter, trumpet player and guitarist. He has been one of the lead vocalists in the Melbourne band The Cat Empire since early 2000. He also performs in jazz groups and as a soloist, and has made several television appearences. Harry is considered one of Australia's most prolific, creative and interesting musicians. Although he was named after the legendary jazz trumpeter Harry James, he jokes that he only took up trumpet at school because all the saxophones were taken!
Contemporary and Musical Theatre Artist
After leaving McKinnon, Danielle studied Musical Theatre at The Victorian College of the Arts. In 2009 she became the inaugural winner of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment Award. She is best known for her portrayal of Shirley Bassey in the musical biopic Danielle Matthews sings The Songs of Shirley Bassey, but has many other theatre credits. Danielle has featured in various concert and TV Performances including Carols by Candlelight at the Myer Music Bowl, The Art Centre's Morning Melodies, The Helpmann Awards, The Circle, Good Morning Australia, Mornings with Kerri Anne and the Today Show.
Danielle recorded her debut album ‘Dream Song‘ in 2013 and has continued to record ever since. More recently she recorded La Belle Epoque for the in-game soundtrack to one of the world's most popular video game series – Assassin's Creed Unity.
Danielle performs and works closely with Opera singer/ choral conductor and Australian of the year Dr Jonathan Welch and is Vice President of The Choir of Hard Knocks.

Kirsty initially learned the cello at McKinnon but fell in love with the bass that lived in the store room and the rest, as they say, is history. The first woman to be appointed as Principal Bass of any Australian professional orchestra, Kirsty received a Churchill Fellowship in 2001 to study historical bass performance in Paris and Rome. She was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the University of Melbourne for her services to Orchestral Music. Passionate about the power of music to create social change, she was recently invited to be a Moorambilla Voices Ambassador, working with young people from rural and regional Australia who are brought together by creative arts.
Betty was selected to perform after achieving a score of 50 for VCE Music Investigations in 2019. Betty is currently studying in Singapore.
Will achieved a score of 50 for VCE Music Performance and is currently working as a GP after studying medicine at Monash University.
