Here are some great games for large groups that provide quick and amazing fun!
In Just One, players are working together to get one of their teammates to guess a secret word. Each round, one person is chosen as the guesser, and must look away. Everybody else views the secret word, and, without communicating, writes down a word that they think will help the guesser. Players then reveal their clues to each other, and must turn facedown any clues that are repeats. The guesser then gets to see any clues that are still standing up, and has "just one" guess at identifying the secret word. In a full game, players attempt 13 clues, trying to get as many correct as they can.
Anomia means having difficulty finding the right word, and that's exactly what you'll experience in this game! To play, draw and reveal a card from the center pile. Does the symbol on your card match one on another player's card? If so, you must quickly face-off with the other player by giving an example of the person, place, or thing on their card before they can do the same for yours. If you blurt out a correct answer first, you win their card and the drawing continues.
Sounds simple, right? Wrong! Wild cards allow non-matching symbols to match, increasing the number of things to which you must pay attention. Cascading face-offs can occur when you hand over a lost card, thereby revealing a new top card on your play pile.
Wits and Wagers is a fantastic game where you (or your team, as it plays great with any number of players, divided into teams) try to find the best guess to a crazy question that nobody could realistically know the answer to! Each question has a numerical answer, and teams secretly write down their guess. Then, guesses are revealed and placed in number order. Teams have two guessing tokens, large and small, and can place them on any guess that they think is the closest. Once all guessing tokens are placed, the answer is revealed, and whichever guess is closest, without going over, is the winning guess for that round. The team with the winning guess scores a point, and each team scores points if their guessing tokens are on the winning guess; 1 point for the small guessing token, and 2 points for the large guessing token.
***There are several versions of this game, and all are great! The Family Edition has the simplest rules and most kid-friendly questions (not that the other versions have inappropriate questions, they're just more geared towards adults).
