Meet the Staff

Amelia Alejos Garcia

Hello my name is Amelia Alejos, I am 18 years old, I am a senior (12th grade). I am a very friendly and sociable person and I would like to be friends with everyone. Some things that I could tell you about myself is that I always like to be with someone, I don't like to be alone, whether it's just one person or several. Why am I taking Intro to Journalism? I am taking it to be able to learn to write in English since I still can't (this is written with the help of the translator) and I also take it to be informed of what is happening around me. What I always do on campus is play basketball, talk with my friends and do homework. My goal at this time would be to be able to learn to speak English and be able to understand it and write it well, which is the most important thing for now.

Nicholas Bruni

I’m Nicholas, here in the school I’m a senior and my principal passions are two: the first is art, I have loved drawing and painting since I was a kid, and I like going to museums to see ancient and modern art. The second thing is going out in the nature and hiking. In fact, in Italy, I’m in a scout group since I was 10 years old and I still love going out with them. I don’t do any clubs or activities in the campus, and honestly I didn’t choose journalism, but they put me in it. My life goal I think that’s one, I would like to do a job related to art, maybe where I can paint or draw something and live with it, with the money I earn from my own art.

Alberto Di Girolamo

I am Alberto Di Girolamo and I’m in grade 12. I have two twins, a brother and a sister, making me part of a triplet! I also have a younger brother. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and play sports such as soccer and tennis. I have decided to take the course Intro to Journalism because it is a subject that has always appealed to me, especially how journalists are able to interest people in many things. On campus I go to the gym in the evening and I would like to take the tennis course. I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up, so in the meantime I follow my passions trying to find something that could be a future job.

Ballet is actually the reason I’m at MCI. I’m a part of Bossov Ballet and student council on campus. I decided to take this class because, well Mr. G recommended it to me, but I also joined with hopes of becoming a better writer. I still don’t really have any idea of what I would like to do with the rest of my life. Honestly it changes everyday, but , most days I would love to become an architect.

Mattia Meucci

My goal is go to law school, therefore I try to get as many courses that have writing and reading included. I wasn’t added to journalism by choice, but I like it, although a lawyer and a journalist have extremely different points of view, so I try to not to get used to the way of writing as a journalist. My long-term goal is to get into the best law schools, but my short-term goal is to perfect my English.

Jordan Plamondon

My name is Jordan Plamondon and I am the senior class president. I love to make money and play in the stock market. Right now, I have been into cryptocurrency and NFTs. At home, I play a lot of pool. I took journalism to try something new, but I plan to go into business or finance in the future.

I took journalism at the suggestion of a teacher, but from the beginning the class has intrigued me. I enjoy reading, riding and playing the piano. I am also passionate about traveling, since it has always been part of my family’s traditions. It is also the reason why I decided to study abroad. My life goal is to pursue traveling in the future and to experience more of the world.

Jamie Simeone

I love having the opportunity to work with such an amazing community while being surrounded by nature and getting to do things I love with the people I love. I am taking intro to journalism because I really enjoy creative writing and want to learn how to translate that to journalism. At MCI I play soccer and softball, and I hope to play soccer next year as well. Lapo Talamini

I’m Lapo, and I’m an exchange student from Italy and I’m a senior. I have a big passion or an addiction for soccer, I have played it since when I was a kid and it’s my biggest passion, I play also only soccer video games. I have also a passion for sneakers but I was more interested some years ago, now is just something that I like and not a real passion. I took Journalism because I read a lot during my life and because my sister is studying journalism at the university and she told me that it is really interesting. I like to stay informed about the news and usually journals are the best way to do it. I’m really enjoying my life in MCI even if I don’t do any club or sports yet, but I think that the campus is a great place to spend the time also without those things. Right now I’m trying to focus myself on school and study, I want to have good grades, but I still don’t know what I want do after this school or in my life, the only certainty that I have is that in my life I will try to have success in some ways, because I think that in the life is necessary aim high, because only with big ambitions we can have big successes.
