What happens in week one?
This page will give you detail about what will happen in the first few days at the college.
Please keep an eye on this as it will be updated as more information comes through.
MONDAY 31st January
No Classes - the last day of the summer break for most of you.
Boarder students arrive at the Hostel.
Please see the Hostel for more information.
TUESDAY 1st February
Orientation and Induction Day
Arrive at 9am.
Meet in the school Chapel.
Wear your JMC PE Uniform (or similar suitable clothes if you have not been able to get your PE uniform yet)
What do I bring?
Your device
Lunch and morning tea
What will we do?
There will be a variety of tasks and activities that we will engage in. These will include:
Team building and meet and greet activities
Set up your technology and organise any log-ons for internet, email, printing etc
Receive your timetables
Tour your 2022 classrooms
The day will conclude at 3pm. You can be collected from school then.
WEDNESDAY 2nd February
What do I bring?
Your device
Any stationary you have for the classes you have today
Lunch, snacks, drink bottle etc
9NSM you will need your PE gear as well
What do I wear?
School uniform. You can choose from your greys or white shirt. We are aware that there is a shortage for some areas so we will make allowances for this.
8:40 am - Form Time
This will be in your form class in Gilray.
9CBD in Room 33
9DOS in Room 32
9DSM in Room 29
9NSM in Room 30
9:30 am - Period 1 begins (this will be your first formal class for the year.)
9CBD have Math with Mrs Burton in Room 2
9DOS have Math with Mr Porter (room to be confirmed)
9DSM have Science with Mr Cartwright in Room 10
9NSM have Integrated Studies with Ms Smillie in Room 30
At the end of each period your teacher or classmates will make sure you all get to the next classroom.
10:20 am - Period 2 begins
9CBD have Science with Mr Cartwright in Room 10
9DOS have Integrated Studies with Mr Schmacher in Room 32
9DSM have Integrated Studies with Mrs Smith in Room 29
9NSM have Science with Mr Kotkamp (room to be confirmed)
11:05 am - Interval
Feel free to head back to Gilray and have a snack and a break.
11:25 am - Period 3 begins
9CBD have Maori with Whae Clark in Room 207
9DOS have Health with Ms Marks in Room 27
9DSM have Christian Studies with Mr Nicholl in the Chapel
9NSM have German with Frau Noble in Room 201
12:15 pm - Period 4 begins
9CBD have Integrated Studies with Mrs Bowden in Room 33
9DOS have Integrated Studies with Mr Schmacher in Room 32
9DSM have Integrated Studies with Mrs Smith in Room 29
9NSM have PE with Mr Kotkamp in the Gym
1 pm - Lunch Time!
Boarders head to the dining room to collect your lunch
All others, head towards Gilray where you can find a space to sit and eat your lunch.
I will confirm if the canteen will be open on this first day.
Please meet at Gilray at the end of lunchtime (1:30pm) so that we can ensure everyone can find their Period 5 class.
1:40 pm - Period 5 begins
All Year 9 students will have an option class this period. We will help you find your class. You will need to check your timetable to see which class you have.
2:40 pm - Period 6 begins
9CBD have Integrated Studies with Mrs Bowden in Room 33
9DOS have Integrated Studies with Mr Schmacher in Room 32
9DSM have Integrated Studies with Mrs Smith in Room 29
9NSM have Math with Mr Wang in Room 11
The school day ends at 3:15pm.
THURSDAY 3rd February
8:40 am - Form Time
Just like Wednesday, this will take place in your Form Class in Gilray.
You will be using your timetable to figure our what classes you have today, but you form teacher will go over this with you in Form Time.
9:50 am - Period 1
9:45 am - Period 2
10:35 am - Interval
10:55 am - Period 3
11:50 am - Period 4
12:40 pm - Lunch Time!
1:30 pm - Period 5
2:25 pm - Period 6
The school day ends at 3:15pm.

8:40 am - Form Time
