The Diocese of Baton Rouge supports a social-emotional wellness program with prescribed lesson topics for each grade level. The topic for third grade is social skills. We address this, and other topics, in a wide range of activities. The School Counselor aims to meet with the third graders once each quarter.

One of the first skills we will work on is using a social filter. To introduce this to the children, we use the imagery of a bubblegum machine to teach "Think it or Say it?"
