The Middle School years are an immense opportunity to learn and practice valuable social skills. This is a time of great growth and often, mistakes. But, mistakes are also teaching tools. Due to this rich time of experiencing new situations and needing more guidance in how to respond appropriately, maturely, kindly, and in a Christian manner, the School Counselor spends time with middle school students in the classroom and in the counseling office, as needed.
Topics addressed are: self-esteem, positive thinking skills, conflict resolution, peer pressure, bullying, spreading kindness, stress, mental health, and coping skills.
