During MTSS, students were given a list of words and had to create a story given specific parameters.
In a different writing assignment, they had to create a recipe for the Perfect Winter Day.

As my friend was drifting off to sleep on the night of Christmas Eve, something moved. I immediately shook my friend awake thinking it was Santa, but all it was were the twirling curtains blowing in the wind. Then, as the night passed, we suddenly heard a crunch. My friend and I got up and started walking over to the cookies, but nothing was there. The cookies were still intact. Minutes later we saw the Grinch, he was whirling so fast I barely recognized him. As the Grinch started to slow down his whirling, he flided graceully across the florr. His eyes sparkled like he was planning a terrible heist.

The car drifted quickly on the ice, 3 kids and 2 parents. The white 2017 Ford Fusion twirled into an 8 foot ditch going 15 mph. Then there was a huge crunch from the frozen lake the car had landed on. Then a whirl of snowflakes fell fromt he sky almost covering the car. Some kids were gliding a shovel on the smooth, soft, and powdery snow when suddenly they felt a more round shape, a clink from the driver's door. The kids and parents were climbing out and were struggling not to slip in the snow. The sparkle in the snow caued the kids to forget about the car and start playing in it. Luckily, the kids were not injured at all and neither were the parents, nobody had even a scratch.
