Discounts are a great way to either assist those with limited financial means (students/seniors/teachers/etc.) attend your event or to use them to help promote your show.
Student/Child Discounts - Most groups create a student or child discount. For students, unless otherwise specify, we consider the discount good for two tickets as long as the student has a valid school ID. For children we typically say 12 and under unless otherwise specified.
Senior Discounts - Unless otherwise specified we consider seniors to be those 65 years of age or older.
Group Discounts - You may decide to offer a discount for anyone buying a certain number of tickets (standard is 10 or more tickets) or to a specific group (i.e. a sorority, business, Mrs. Brown's English Class, etc.) We can set you up with either a special discount code (see below) or we can take a groups reservation that would require a down payment.
Discount Codes - please see below.
Some events will offer different discount codes to help promote the event. MATCH is able to create the following types of discount features:
A "Flat" discount is a specific dollar amount off the face value of the ticket. "$15 off" would be a flat discount -- a $50 ticket would become $35.
A "Percentage" discount is a percent off the face value. "15% off" would be a percentage discount -- a $50 ticket would become $42.50
A "Fixed Price" discount changes ticket price to whatever you say it is. "All tickets $15" (regardless of their original face value) would be a fixed price discount -- a $50 ticket would become $15.
A "Buy X, Get Y Free" discount allows you to set values for "x" (the number of paid items) and "y" (the number of free items) so you can create "Buy One Get One Free" and other similar offers.
Discount codes can be applied during the ticket order process.
Clients may specify a minimum number of tickets that must be purchased for the discount code to work (group sales) or a maximum number per order for the discount to work.
Client may specify a specific timeframe for discount to either work OR event dates/times for which they are valid. An example might be a 4th of July sale where tickets bought that day with a special discount code are at a lower price or a discount for a Saturday show.
Everyone entering your event through the lobby and taking a seat MUST HAVE A TICKET. Most presenters reserve a set number of tickets to use for their VIP guests, board members, cast and crew comps or for promotional purposes.
Since we run box office for multiple events at the same time we as that complimentary ticket requests be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of your event. This gives us time to make sure all of your guests have been taken care of and there will be no last minute confusion at the box office.
You will receive a link to your event's comp form that is a Google document. This link takes you directly to the form and allows you to add, update and change the requests and allows us to get it in real time.
You will receive the link to the submission form at the beginning of the process as well as in the final check in email you will receive the week prior to your event.
The form should be filled out with the following:
first and last name of your guest
Number of tickets held under that name
The date/time of the show that they are attending
A specific seat location if your event is RESERVED SEATING and you have held these seats for comps in advance
The guest's phone number and/or their email address. NOTE: It is important that the phone number and email address belong to that guest. Do not use your phone number or email. If you do not have their phone number or email address please note that so that we may pull their ticket under a generic account and will leave their ticket under their name at will call.
If you have questions about your comps direct them to comps@matchouston.org
Please inform your guests that all comps will be held at WILL CALL and may be picked up by your guests on the day of the event.
EMAILED TICKETS
You may choose to have comp tickets emailed. There is a place on the form to indicate this preference. Please note that we process tickets 24 to 48 hours prior to the event date. If a presenter wished to have tickets processed sooner email comps@matchouston.org to make the request.
