Tulay Kimika Akoglu is a Japanese-Turkish-American senior at The Masters School. She loves living in the Big Apple and watching dance performances at the Joyce. Her mother is a florist, and ever since she was little, Tulay has had an obsession with flowers. Her favorites are lilies, tulips, and sunflowers. Next year, she will be going to Wellesley College, an all-women's institution, and is looking for an Asian roommate to share a rice cooker with. Tulay looks forward to this next chapter in life and is excited to go to Hillary Clinton’s alma mater.

Maayan Apkon resides in Westchester, New York. When she’s not belting out Carrie Underwood, she can be seen petting her cats and driving her blue Prius. She will be attending Franklin and Marshall in the fall where she hopes to find friends at the local Amish Farmers Market.

Haley Casper resides in a small town in Westchester, New York. On weekends she does not know what life looks like before noon as she enjoys her beloved Casper mattress. When not trying to habla Spanish, which she has been studying for six years with little to no success, she can be found roaming the Masters School campus with her Nalgene with exactly two lemon slices. Haley will be attending Bucknell University in the fall with an intended major in psychology.
Sam Coffey is a white Anglo-Saxon Protestant girl who enjoys kicking balls, belting the Mamma Mia soundtrack, and composting. When not playing soccer, she enjoys the company of her four cats and her bird, Walter, sailing on the coast of Maine, and harassing people for their jeans day dollar. She has approximately five cups of coffee a day, and likes giving her school administration headaches for missing more than fifty school days in one year. She has a deep love for Paul Simon and Jesus Christ. She will be attending Boston College in the fall.

Thomas Davoren has lived in Putnam County, New York all his life and loves hiking, fishing, reggae, and farming. Next year, he will be attending Wesleyan University.

Willa Dow has been a student at The Masters School for the past eight years. She has enjoyed this time immensely. Hailing from rural Putnam County, she grew up playing in the woods. Throughout her early childhood she spent much of her time on a farm or hunting and fishing with her dad. In high school Willa plays soccer, basketball, and lacrosse and competes in MUN. She is known around the school for her proficiency in meme culture and plans on continuing these studies in college. She also loves dogs and horses but not cats.

Sophia Gutfreund is a senior at the Masters School and will be attending Tufts University in the fall. She enjoys playing field hockey, going to art museums, and hanging out with friends. Occasionally she wishes her life weren’t mediocre, and then she realizes… it’s high school – get over it.
Ingrid Hirt is a middle child born in Providence, Rhode Island, with a passion for soccer. On a weekend, you might find her lying on a rock in the Hastings Trailway staring at the sky while her dogs frolic in the shrubbery. She plans on studying biology at Brown University next fall, and one day hopes to become a medical doctor, but of which type she is currently unsure. Her biggest struggles in life include being kind to herself, finding pants that fit correctly, and being bitten by mosquitoes.
Mingyu (Kenneth) Li has been an international student at The Masters School for four years. He appreciates these years of living, studying, and growing in America, which have shaped his view on education, culture, and intimate relationships. Greatly cherishing his Chinese identity, he hopes to spread and promote Chinese culture in American society through his writing. Attending University of Pennsylvania in the fall, he will continue exploring his passion of drawing connections among different cultures in the future.

Owen Lieber’s greatest achievement is winning camper of the year at Camp Androscoggin in the summer of 2007. He declined to return the following summer. He thinks Green Day, Aerosmith, and Pearl Jam are the most overrated bands of all time. It is a little known fact that he has seen every Seinfeld episode more than once. He intends to stock up on down filled products for when he goes up to Colgate University next fall.
Alex Luis, while born in Tokyo, has somehow managed to find himself in the suburbs of New York. While rather low key, he is actually a professional sumo wrestler. His parents can speak eight languages combined, yet he clearly struggles with juzt Englesh. He plans to escape the frigid New York winters by attending Emory University in the fall.

Phil Minton was born and raised in a town in Westchester County, New York that was made famous by Washington Irving. In his free time he loves bothering his siblings, doing math problems, and kissing up to teachers. When not admiring his dog, he can be found working at the local movie theater stuffing buckets of popcorn and improperly mixing lattes for thankless customers. He will be attending the University of Southern California in sunny LA where he hopes to finally learn the proper way to acquire a good tan.
Emma Rubinson is a senior at The Masters School. When she is not cutting up T-shirts for her senior project, you can find her in the dance studio or hanging out with Dobbs 16. In her free time, she explores the city with friends, jumps in the Hudson River at sunset, and goes on hikes in the woods. Emma is excited to begin school next fall at Washington University in St. Louis to study fashion design and visual arts.

Reena Sheth, a senior boarding student at The Masters School, grew up frolicking around the farms of upstate New York. When she is not out crashing her car into other people’s mailboxes, she can be found having a grand time in the streets of NYC. Reena is excited to spend her next four years at NYU Gallatin, starting in the fall 2017.
