Applying to a Four-Year College?
Most colleges will want you to apply as a first-time college student, even though you have a good number of college credits. Be sure to be in contact with a staff member from admissions to get answers to your questions about which credits might transfer.
MC² Alumni Experiences with Credit Transfers
Please note: Every college and every student is different. These are just past students' experiences. We cannot guarantee that you will have the same experience.
Bryn Athyn College Graduate:
"Most of my CCP credits transferred. I was able to get a lot of prerequisites out of the way and focus on my core requirements"
Drexel University Student:
"I believe around 20 credits transferred and the process of getting them accepted involved identifying which classes did not count towards my MaST requirements. Those that were not were transferred to Drexel."
Duquesne University Graduate:
"Duquesne University accepted all of my CCP credits. After providing my academic advisor with my CCP transcript, he applied all of the credits to the required coursework for my major."
Chestnut Hill College Graduate:
"All of my credits were accepted at the institution I decided to go to. I applied as a freshman then I talked with my academic advisor about transferring the credits as soon as I submitted my enrollment. From there they ask you to send over your transcript and then decide which credits they will accept. I did it this way as it was recommended by another alum to me in order to get all of the freshman enrollment info and then go from there. If you are planning on playing a sport, like I did, make sure to submit it to the NCAA (if it is an NCAA division) ahead of time as it will take a few weeks to be reviewed and processed by them for NCAA eligibility."
Holy Family Student:
"I was able to take all 60 of my credits and essentially bypassed the first two years of college."
Temple University Graduate:
"All 66 of my credits from CCP transferred but only into the Public Health degree. All I had to do was send my official CCP transcript over to Temple."
Thomas Jefferson University Student:
"At Jefferson, for the Nursing Program, they only accept 15 credits. In my Community & Trauma Counseling program, they’ve now accepted 20/22 credits."
Arcadia University Student:
"All 63 of my credits were accepted by Arcadia University and allowed me to enter college with Junior academic standing! When I knew Arcadia was my top choice, I reached out to their Admissions Counselor for Transfer Students and she did a credit evaluation for me. This basically showed which of my credits would transfer and what they would transfer to as an Arcadia Course."
West Chester University Student:
"All of my credits from CCP were transferred over to West Chester. However, nursing is a structured major so while the credits were all accepted, I am still looking at probably 4 years of school. I had to get in contact with a few different people in the admissions office and nursing department, but in the end I had to send them my CCP transcript a few times so they had it on my record. I also reached out to to the chair of the Nursing department to let her know my situation, and she met with me the summer before I started college to talk about options and how it would work with my credits."
Temple University Student:
"Despite transferring from business to biology approximately 80 credits transferred. The process was as simple as reaching out to a advisor (specifically a transfer advisor) and sending over the transcript from CCP to temple. The credits were then evaluated by the advisor and course plan and timeline were constructed. This process took approximately 3 weeks and since Temple has a transfer agreement with CCP there were no issues."
Temple University Graduate:
"All of my credits transferred, I did not take any electives or gen-eds at Temple. I forget the exact process, but I believe I just had to send my transcripts from CCP to Temple and spoke with an advisor. "
University of the Sciences/ St. Joe's University Graduate
"All credits were accepted."
Widener University
"All of the credits transferred to Widener. It was an easy process transferring the credits."
