If you're grading an assignment, discussion, or quiz in Brightspace, it's ideal to hide your feedback until you've finished entering it for all students. You have a couple of options for doing this:
Save your feedback as a draft as you grade each student's work, then publish your feedback to all students at once.
Hide a column in the Grades area before you start grading, then make it visible when you're done.
While you're assessing an assignment, discussion, or quiz*, you'll see a "Save Draft" button at the bottom-right side of the page as you review a student's work. Simply click this button (instead of "Publish") as you enter feedback for each student.
*NOTE: To enter draft feedback on a quiz, you'll first need to turn on the new quiz evaluation experience in your course.
Then when you've finished entering feedback for all of your students, you can publish it all at once. Where to find this option is slightly different for assignments, discussions, and quizzes; click the accordion for each type of activity to view its specific instructions.
Click the Publish All button on the assignment's Submissions page.

Click the Publish Feedback button on the Grade Quiz page to release the feedback for multiple attempts simultaneously.

Hiding the column for an assignment, discussion, or quiz in your course's Grades area removes it from students' view, and they won't receive notifications as you individually publish your feedback for them.
To hide a column in your course's Grades area, follow these 3 steps:
Step 1. Click Grades in your course's navigation menu.
Step 2. Click the Manage Grades tab.
Step 3. Click the down arrow to the right of an item's name, then select Hide from Users. An icon that looks like an eye with a line through it will appear next to the grade item, indicating that it's hidden from students.

To make the column for the grade item visible once you're done adding feedback, simply complete this process again, but select Make Visible to Users in Step 3.
