The Diploma Program is a 2 year continuum (DP 1 & DP 2) that is comprised of SIX SUBJECT GROUPS in two categories:
Standard Level (SL)
Higher Level (HL)
In addition to the six subject groups, there are also three elements at the CORE of the Diploma Program that enhance the overall learning objective through a series of reflection on the nature of knowledge, independent research and community service.
What's the Objective?
To become eligible for the IB Diploma !

...entering college as a sophomore instead of a freshman! Depending on the scores a students receives in each of the assessments, it could add up to over 30 college credits! This means an IB student could finish college in 3 years with a Bachelors degree or in some cases, they could complete the normal 4 years of college and graduate with a Masters degree!
How do you do it?
In order for students to qualify for the IB Diploma, as opposed to a regular high school diploma, they must meet the following requirements:
Take all 6 subject group assessments
The assessments are administered during the last quarter of their senior year, although some of the tasks are a work in progress throughout the 2 year continuum.
These assessments are are comprised of an INTERNAL ASSESSMENT graded by their teacher and an EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT that is graded by an authorized IB examiner.
Successfully complete the 3 CORE elements
TOK - Theory of Knowledge
EE - Extended Essay
CAS - Creativity, Activity, and Service
Score a minimum of 24 points collectively
The 6 assessments from each subject group are worth up to 7 points each
The 3 CORE elements are worth up to 1 point each.
