SAVVAS CA History-Social Science

We have officially adopted a new Social Studies curriculum! It is through the company "SAVVAS Realize".  Our fifth grade curriculum will cover the history of the Americas with a closer view of California. 

We will progress through The First Americans, the Age of Exploration, Settling the Colonies in North America, Life in the Colonies, The American Revolution, A New Nation, Life in the Young Republic, and Westward Expansion. The curriculum uses a variety of platforms, including a link to explore through Clever. 

Finally, we use Scholastic News to talk about current matters and enhance student ability to read nonfiction text. We are incredibly grateful to PTA for supplementing our curriculum with this amazing resource.
