Google Meet

Be Careful: There are increased reports of unwanted guests entering virtual meeting spaces. Do not post your Google Meet link publicly or on social media. Share your video conference links in locations that are only accessible by your students.

How Do I?

What Is It?

Google Meet is a quick and easy way to host video conferencing. Add your students by sending them a code. With Meet, you are able to share your screen and record your meeting sessions!
*Meet has adjusted settings so that students cannot mute each other's mics or remove each other from meetings*

Pros:

  • Up to 250 Participants

  • Already integrated with your school account! <Zoom requires a separate account>

  • Teachers (but not students) can record their meeting with the file automatically saved to your Google Drive

  • Share your screen (even from an iPad/iPhone) with recordings saved to Google Drive

  • Create a meeting in the moment, or schedule one from your Google Calendar

  • Nothing to download! <Zoom requires downloaded software>

  • Students simply join with a link

Cons:

  • No "waiting room" feature

  • Students can join your meeting room before you are there

  • Students might rejoin your room after you leave

  • Only one person can share their screen at a time
