Have your class discussion asynchronously! Flipgrid is a video-based discussion board. Students video their response to teacher-posted prompts. They can also view and respond to their peers' posts.

Video conferencing is a great tool, but Flipgrid allows you to do something completely different!
Zoom & Google Meet allow for real-time video conferencing, which is great for virtual office hours or help sessions. I would recommend it for smaller groups. An entire-class video conference requires a great deal of classroom management....and requires you to get all of your students in the same virtual space at the same time.
Flipgrid allows you to have a class conversation asynchronously! Students video their answers on their own time. Other students stop by to view their peers' recordings and post responses. Every student gets a chance to be a part of the conversation, and you aren't screaming at them to mute their mics.
