About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Matawan Regional High School Instrumental Music Program.

• Our curricular and co-curricular programs are comprised of a large concert band ensemble.

• This ensemble study and and prepare band literature, music for chamber ensemble, and special music for ceremonies throughout the school year.

• Our students are afforded monthly private instruction on their instrument and are encouraged to seek out opportunities to study privately outside of school on their major instrument.

• Performances of high quality within the Matawan Regional School District communities at large are an expectation of our students and are our pleasure to provide.

In addition, the Matawan Regional Marching Huskies is made up of dedicated high school students who, from July through November each year, create a competitive field show, support the HS in all areas of school spirit, cheer on our athletic programs and seek to serve the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District with distinction.

Finally, the Jazz program at Matawan High School is made up of our select students. The jazz ensemble performs at school functions, district events, private functions, and community happenings throughout the year and across New Jersey. The jazz band is a proud recipient of many school, district and regional awards. We actively challenge students with new performing opportunities and would like to encourage you to consider inviting our 18-piece big band when planning your event.
