Schools are much more than places of learning for students. Our teaching and learning community is also a worksite that employs individuals collectively working on behalf of our Marion students. Meeting the health and safety needs of our workforce is integral to promoting and protecting the health of students and ensuring their academic success and overall well-being.
Our staff wellness program strives to influence staff on multiple levels with hopes of decreasing absenteeism, reducing staff turnover, lowering health care, and insurance costs, increasing employee retention, improving employee morale, and providing healthy role models for students.
Self-care practices are a crucial component of a comprehensive wellness approach. Self-care is any action used to improve individual health and well-being and may include engaging in physical fitness, getting plenty of sleep and rest, engaging in stress management, and mindfulness. The Marion CSD encourages employees to monitor their own physical and mental health needs.
