Doodles and More
Join MCS as we use art supplies and technology to doodle!
Technology permeates the art world and provides us many ways to combine our love of art and technology. With technology we can create fantastical images with photo editing software. We can create interactive art pieces. We can hack our notebooks and sketchbooks using paper circuits. There is so much we can do!
Let's start with doodling because we can all doodle! In our notebooks and agendas you will often find doodles, and we guess that if we looked at yours we would find doodles, too!
Sometimes we find ourselves doodling the same thing over and over and need some new ideas. We can often find inspiration and fun while learning from others, like the famous author, Mo Willems. Or check out the doodle challengs from your MCS teachers!
Come along with us as we doodle with art supplies, and then use technology to recreate our doodles. Make your own, and send them in to Mrs. Dogterom or Mrs. Rodriguez or Mrs. Rogers so we can share them on this page. Things you will need - paper, your choice of drawing implements (pencil, crayon, markers, colored pencils, colored paper, etc.), Google Drawing, Piskel, Pixlr, Sketchpad, Notability, Microsoft Paint or other software with drawing features.
You don't have to be a trained artist to have fun!
Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems
Mo Willems is a famous author and doodler! His love for doodling grew into stories and books.
Mo is a resident artist at the Kennedy Center, and has created a series of videos which highlight the stories he created and how he doodles his characters. We are highlighting only some of his series. You can find Mo's complete series here.
You can skip through the video to find the doodle instruction, but it is amazing to learn about Mo's work and to see his original art which he shares. (All those drawers behind Mo contain original artwork from his projects!)
