DENMARK-HUNGARY
Some of our Year 10 students, together with their families, welcomed the Hungarian and Danish participants. Over the course of a week, they shared their daily lives with them in their homes, allowing them to experience first-hand the exchange of traditions, practise English as a foreign language and interact with people from different cultures.
Everyone involved enjoyed this experience with great enthusiasm, making the most of the opportunity. Both the Spanish students and the students and teachers from Hungary and Denmark thoroughly enjoyed the possibilities offered by this project. During their stay in Spain, they visited the most representative places in Valencia, got to know our school and lived with their host families.
After this enriching experience, our students are looking forward to their stays abroad so they can reconnect with their new friends.
The school is firmly committed to Erasmus+ projects as a valuable opportunity for linguistic, cultural, social and personal development, both for students and teachers.
DAY 1
Today we welcomed our groups of students from Hungary and Denmark to the Santa María Marianistas School in Alboraya!
A very special week begins within our Erasmus+ project, a space where learning goes far beyond the classroom. These international exchanges offer our students the opportunity to develop globally, put their language skills into practice, and strengthen their personal autonomy by facing new challenges, new environments, and new ways of learning.
In addition, cultural exchange with peers from other countries helps to cultivate essential values such as tolerance, empathy, understanding of other realities, and the enrichment that comes from the encounter between different cultures.
We are confident that this experience will be unforgettable for everyone and will leave a lasting mark on their academic and personal growth.
Welcome! Begin an Erasmus+ adventure full of learning, friendship, and discovery! 🌍💫
DAY 2
Yesterday was an unforgettable day as we explored the heart of Valencia with our Erasmus+ groups from Hungary and Denmark.
As part of this special week, we spent the day discovering the historic city centre: its lively streets, cultural richness and some of the most iconic places that make Valencia such a unique environment. It was the perfect experience to continue strengthening the bonds between our students, practise different languages in a real-life context and continue developing their independence in an urban environment that was new to many of them.
These activities not only allow them to get to know our city better, but also help students understand how heritage, history and cultural diversity shape the identity of a place and the people who live there. Walking together, sharing impressions and discovering special places becomes a real opportunity for personal growth and connection between cultures.
Each day of this mobility adds to the learning, friendships and memories that will last far beyond this week.
We continue to enjoy this Erasmus+ adventure! 🌍💫
DAY 3
Today, our Erasmus+ groups from Hungary and Denmark discovered one of the most important natural treasures in our area: the Albufera Natural Park.✨
The day began at the Interpretation Centre, where we learned about the enormous environmental wealth of this protected area and its fundamental role in the ecological balance of the region. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to observe migratory birds in their natural habitat, an experience that awakened in all of us a great sensitivity towards biodiversity and the care it requires.
Later, we travelled to El Palmar, where we enjoyed a boat trip on the Albufera Lagoon, contemplating its unique landscape and learning first-hand how the different elements that make up this unique ecosystem interact.
To end the day, we visited Saler beach, where we were able to appreciate the sandbar and better understand the fragility and value of the natural spaces that surround the city of Valencia.
It was a very positive experience, full of learning and connection with nature, which allowed our students to see first-hand the ecosystems, habitats and protected areas that make our environment such an exceptional place.
🌍💫 We continue to make discoveries on this Erasmus+ adventure!
DAY 4
Today, our Erasmus+ groups from Hungary and Denmark enjoyed a very special day at the Santa María Marianistas School in Alboraya.✨
The morning began with a series of activities in different secondary school classes. Our guests were divided into several groups to participate in listening comprehension and cultural exchange activities, chatting with our students and sharing languages, interesting facts and experiences from their countries. It was a very enriching experience, where learning flowed naturally among everyone.
During break time, Spanish, Hungarian and Danish students enjoyed games and socialising together, strengthening the bonds that are being created this week.
Afterwards, our host students guided the groups on a complete tour of the school: from Infant to Secondary, visiting classrooms, playgrounds and facilities. In each class, students of different levels welcomed them enthusiastically: some sang to them, others told stories, and everyone took the opportunity to ask questions and share a special moment with our Erasmus friends.
At lunchtime, they enjoyed the traditional menu served in the school canteen, a perfect opportunity to savour a little piece of our gastronomic culture.
In the afternoon, the three countries presented the work they had been preparing for this meeting, sharing ideas, reflections and different perspectives. In addition, they began to develop a new joint presentation on the problems of climate change in each of their countries, contributing different perspectives to understand a global challenge that affects us all.
This Erasmus+ mobility programme is, once again, proving to be a true exchange of tolerance, coexistence, academic vision and personal growth.
It is a space where our students are enriched as citizens of the world, discovering that learning together is always learning better. 🌍
DAY 5
Today was Sienna's last day, our language assistant from New Zealand, and we want to dedicate a special space to her on our social media. 🌟
Throughout this school year, Sienna has brought enthusiasm, warmth and a unique way of connecting with the students. Her energy in the classroom, her creative activities and her always positive attitude have left a very significant mark on our school. Today, our students showed her how much they appreciate her with gestures of affection and gratitude that perfectly sum up what her presence here has meant.
To learn a little more about her experience with us, you can read the interview we did with her, where she shares how she has experienced this year, what it has given her, and what she will take with her from her time in our educational community.
We are also accompanying the publication with some photos of this special day, which reflect the bond and affection she has built with our students.
Thank you, Sienna — you will always have a place in our school community.
