Welcome to my English classroom website! I graduated from Marian Central in 2008, and I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Secondary English Education from Western Illinois University in December of 2012. I am so excited to return home to teach with the English teachers who inspired me to continue into education in a discipline that I love. I received my English as a Second Language Endorsement from the American College of Education in 2014 and I am currently pursuing my Masters of Instructional Technology through Northern Illinois University! I am extremely excited for all of the technological opportunities that we will be presenting to our students this year!
This is my sixth year of teaching. This year I am currently teaching one Junior British Literature classes, one Comparative Literature class, and our Publications/Journalism course. In addition to my class load, I am looking forward to transitioning to the Marian Central Educational Technology Integration Specialist role. Outside the classroom, I have coached lacrosse and tennis. Currently I am a co-director in our theater program through the fall play and Black Box, and advising The Crown newspaper and The Memorare Yearbook. I love running, yoga, and working out. I enjoy all music, with country ranking as my top favorite, exploring movie genres, and reading any book I can get my hands on. Through working for our Journalism course, I have found a new love for photography. I especially love Chicago sports, especially the Cubs "2016 World Series Champions," Blackhawks, and Bears.
