Year 6  Learning Update

Central idea: The natural world can be impacted by the human use of scientific and technological developments.

Inquiry

We have made a fantastic start to our inquiry, and the children have already used a range of inquiry skills.  They have used their map skills to locate tropical rainforests around the world, also thinking about lines of latitude and longitude.  They have researched the three largest tropical rainforests and produced a Google Site in which they have documented their findings.  We will share this link with you once the children have fully completed the site.  They have also combined their art skills with their writing skills to produce a fantastic layered piece of work, which provides visual information on the layers of the rainforest.

Maths

We have been learning decimal numbers, as well as learning how to convert between fractions and decimals.  We are also continually revising a range of topics in our early bird maths sessions.
