Central idea: The weather can affect how people live.
This week in Year 1, we have been learning about how to measure the rain by making rain gauges. The children worked collaboratively to make their own rain gauge out of a plastic bottle. We have put them outside and are taking measurements every day to see how much rain we have.
We have also been learning about weather forecasts and have been having a go at being weather reporters. Next week, we will be filming our forecasts to share with each other.
In maths, we have been consolidating our understanding of the teen numbers by representing them in different ways and matching the word to the numeral.
