Central idea: Technology constantly evolves to progress human societies.
Year 5 have begun their Inquiry work with a series of lessons surrounding space. They have been using practical demonstrations to explore the relationship between the Moon, Sun and Earth as well as the reasons we have day and night. Driven by their enthusiasm, the children independently researched and created a timeline showcasing the history of space exploration.
In writing, we have begun planning and writing a character description based on our class book 'The Wild Robot'. Year 5 have designed their own robots and thought carefully about the language they can use to describe them.
Year 5 have begun their new topic on multiplication and division in maths. They have been practising multiplying a 2-digit number by another 2-digit number, using multiple methods.
