1. YES, we will be having practices over Spring Break. 8 am.

2. NO, they are not mandatory.  If you have a trip planned do not tell your family you cannot go because of track.

3. IF you are NOT leaving town, I would highly recommend you go to practice to keep your body adapting to the training and continuing the progress you have made so far.

4. You will NOT be punished for not attending practices, just keep in mind it is still an evaluative process and if someone were to make improvments over break we will probably want to see them in the upcoming meets after break.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 2023 Seniors on their graduation day!!!!  This group was instrumental in building and continuing to build our teams over the years.  Their resume as a class speaks for itself.  You all will be sorely missed!

Below is the link to the Track Banquet RSVP on May 23rd @ 5:00 PM in the Skyview Historic Cafeteria.  We have to know how many people are planning on attending, so we know how much food to buy.

**PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU EDIT, SO YOU DONT DELETE ANY CELLS**

1. Even if you are not going to go, please put a "NO"

2. If more people show than were RSVP'd there will not be enough food for everyone

3. We use our fundraiser money to buy this food, if we over-buy, it is money we could have rolled over to next year

Nice job today working through your first 400 day of the season and for some of you, first 400 day ever!

Below is a meet schedule LINK.  This can also be found in your MODULES.  Please follow the following steps:

1. Go through your personal schedule 

2. Open the meet schedule below

3. Mark a "Yes" if you can make that particular meet or a "No" if you cant make that meet. 

This avoids that issue of us putting you in a meet and you cant go, which WASTES a varsity spot for another athlete.  PRIORITY is this Friday.  Please get this updated as soon as possible.

THINGS TO REMEMBER FOR TOMORROW

1. Attendance will be taken per usual and will count towards your attendance (some of you are pushing your 5 limit)

2. If you are signed up to work a specific event you need to be there the entire time.  There is an extra at each event that can relieve you if you need to go to the bathroom or anything and you are more than welcome to trade off too to give each other breaks if needed.  We will have a brief overview meeting at         4 pm. Do not be late.

3. If you are not signed up for an event you are having a normal practice and getting ready for Wednesday. You will still be ready to go at 4 pm on the track for warm-up.  Do not be late.

Athletes,

Congratulations on a great season.  There is no doubt that we faced adversity.  We had to address climate and culture a lot this year, from entitlement at times to effort at times, but one thing that is undeniable- the progress you made on the track and in the field.  Countless PR's.

You did exactly what I challenged you to do and that was COMPETE.  Whether COMPETING for you was 1st place or 5th place; running someone down from behind OR getting passed by a State Qualifier; or taking 1st WITH OUT a PR or 3rd WITH a PR, it was COMPETING.

Very proud of what you accomplished and you should be proud of what this teams legacy will be.  Cant wait to hand out awards, letters, shirts and certificates at the banquet and celebrate you and your year.

Athletes (those of you competing this Saturday, disregard your items), 

We have WAY too many uniforms still out.  This is unacceptable.  Especially for those of you who did not compete at league and have also been ineligible.  It is inconsiderate.

Some of you turned in items that were not yours.  You are responsible for the items that you checked out, whether you turned in an item or not.

REMINDER:

1. You will not get any of your track certificates, letters or league championships shirts until they are in

2. I will ask your coaches to not let you practice or compete in your off season sports until they are in

3. You will not get any of your certificates or awards at the letterman banquet

4. Coach Weir will hold your diploma until they are in

Congratulations to Cassidy, Cuauhtemoc, Sofia and Crispy for qualifying for the State Track Meet!!!

This is a huge accomplishment.  CHSAA only takes the top 18 in the State, in each event.

They will run/throw/jump this Thursday and Friday (Finals being Saturday).
