In language arts we read The Proud Turkey. The skills addresses:
Comprehension: Recalling Story Details; Using Critical Thinking; Making Comparisons; Sequencing Events; Drawing Conclusions
Vocabulary: Understanding Word Meaning
Grammar: Using Adjectives and Verbs
Wednesday was National Monopoly day. So we read the directions together on how to play Monopoly Junior and then tested our knowledge of the rules of the game by answering questions.
In math we completed an algebra unit. The kids had to solve problems involving simple number patterns.
We played Monopoly Junior a few times! It was great to see the kids working together on math and reading while socializing.
In social studies this week we took our quiz on the five Mid-Atlantic states. And started to learn about the South Atlantic States.
In science this week we learned about asteroids and meteoroids.

In language arts we read The Ugly Duckling. The skills addressed:
Comprehension: Recalling Story Details; Sequencing Story Events; Following Directions
Vocabulary: Understanding Word Meaning: Identifying Opposites (Antonyms)
Phonics: Categorizing Long Vowel Words; Identifying Spellings for the er Sound;
Writing: Writing a Sentence
In math we completed a numbers and operations unit. The kids had to identify odd and even numbers. We started an algebra unit that we will finish next week.
In social studies this week we finished learning about the five Mid-Atlantic states. We will do a review on Monday and have our quiz on Tuesday.
In science this week we did our planet posters. They came out awesome! Check out this pictures below.

Wednesday 11/26-Friday 11/28 No School for Thanksgiving Break
In language arts we did a spelling unit: Short vowel words; Spell words with or; Recognize homophones for and four; Recognize the words I and we.
In math we completed a measurement unit. The kids had to measure length using non standard units. We started a numbers and operations unit that we will take the test for this unit on Monday.
In social studies this week we started to learn about the five Mid-Atlantic states. We learned about Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey.
In science this week we took our quiz on the outer planets. We started gathering the facts for out planet posters.
