I have made a couple of adjustments in this class that I felt were necessary to be more successful during class time. Students are now receiving participation points in my class. They get 5 points a day and grades will be put in weekly (out of 25 points). Additionally I will start grading every problem from their homework and if they get below a 70% they need to do corrections on their homework if they would like to do quiz corrections.

Current Unit: Final Project
Upcoming Events:
Friday, Jan. 23 - Students are working on a final project to culminate the end of their Spanish class for the semester. They are writing a full page letter to a pen pal (not real), having it edited by me, and then making a final creative page to share with the class. Their letter will include samples of all the things they've learned this semester. They can use their Study Guides, vocab pictures sheets, and any notes they may have taken to write the letter. Students may need to finish their projects at home but should be able to finish up in class.
Also, I will unfortunately be out of town for our last day of class and so there will be a substitute teacher. I have really enjoyed teaching the 8th grade this semester and look forward to next year! In order to make our time in class really worthwhile, students need to remember and practice what they know, and so I hope they will continue to use their Spanish whenever they're able! :)
