Writing BoomWriter (web) Three interactive areas in one place.
Story Writer: Collaboratively create a published paperback book with your class on any device. Enhance students’ understanding of key literary elements. Students convey flexible-thinking skills and learn to adapt their writing, especially tone and voice, as the story progresses. When finished, your class can purchase the finished book that contains the names of all participating students.
Wordwriter: A powerful, flexible and fun platform that strengthens vocabulary development. Reinforce and/or assess your student’s understanding of key terms. As students write their entry, assigned words are highlighted and checked off their word list to ensure thorough completion
ProjectWriter: Students demonstrate their knowledge and skills by collaboratively creating a class “textbook”. Perfect for end-of-unit review or section-by-section summary
Built-in vocabulary tool to reinforce key terms
Writing Google Docs (web, iOS, Android) Docs is the word processing program offered as part of the suite in Google Drive. It’s cloud-based, so you can work on documents anywhere you have an Internet connection. Start working at school, then continue at home. The collaboration features allow multiple users to work on the same document at the same time from any location. Changes are saved automatically, so there’s no worry about losing important work. With voice typing, you can now compose in Google Docs by talking into a microphone.
Writing Grammarly (web) Grammarly makes sure everything you type is clear, effective, and mistake-free. Add to Chrome and it’s free. You can compose directly on the Grammarly site, checking your work as you go, or upload your own Microsoft Word, Open Office, or text file and then have that checked. When a possible error is found, Grammarly puts a note in the margin.
Writing NoRedInk (web) Authentic Assessments: students can rearrange sentences, edit and mark up text, organize ideas into outlines, and manipulate multi-paragraph passages.
Personalized: high-Interest content generated from students' favourite celebrities, friends, and interests, making the content fun and relevant. For students with learning disabilities, NoRedInk has reduced barriers on critical skill development in grammar and written expression. Students are appropriately challenged by NoRedInk's student-centered, adaptive approach. Interactivity: rather than just identify sentences as correct or incorrect, students actually click on elements, drag elements on or off a sentence, or retype certain parts to fix errors. This makes the lessons a bit more fun.
Writing Write About (web) Write About is a classroom writing community and publishing platform built by teachers.
