The Nurse of the Future will demonstrate accountability for the delivery of standard-based nursing care that is consistent with moral, altruistic, legal, ethical, regulatory, and humanistic principles.
When I think of professionalism, I think of some of the traits of professionalism, like being ethical, being positive, being a team player, being dependable. I also think of the different qualities that someone that is professional has like the ability to learn, someone having integrity, someone that has interpersonal skills and the ability to speak with people from many different walks of life. The definition of professionalism according to oxford languages is “The competence or skill expected of a professional, the key to quality and efficiency is professionalism” (Oxford Languages , 2021). I have had the honor of watching some really professional people the way that these people conduct themselves is in a way that makes people want to be around them. They tend to listen respectfully and care about what others have to say, they are genuine about what they are doing. I can only hope that I emulate these people in my day-to-day work and life.
You will find in this folder a current cover letter for a potential employer as well as my resume. You will see that these documents show how I have continued to be a life long learner while advancing in my professional life as well as helping within the community.
I have attached my nursing philosophy paper. This shows my views on what nursing means to me and how health, nursing, personal, and environment connects a intracule working system. One of the best quotes that I have seen is from Stephen Covey, “The biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand, we listen to reply". This has to start with us first, once we learn to really listen, we can start to really make a difference. This could not be more true in our line of work.
The last thing that I wanted to highlight was my community power point presentation on Caribou, Maine.
Professionalism can be shown throughout every thing that we do in life. I believe that it is important to be committed to providing a high level of care, that is safe and effective when working with patients as well as their families.
