During all exams, all bags, backpacks, jackets, etc., will be left at the front of the lecture hall. Phones will be turned off or silenced and left with your bags. Watches will be removed. Calculators will be removed from their cases. No earbuds or headphones will be allowed. Head coverings that cover ears are not allowed (with an exception for religious garments.) The ONLY things you will be allowed at your desk are the exam, your 4x6 note card, writing utensils, scrap paper, and calculators with the case removed. Note that programmable (ie - TI types of calculators are prohibited. Only simple scientific calculators are allowed.) Failure to adhere to any of these policies will result in a zero on your exam, and a referral to the Dean of Students for an Academic Integrity violation.
Attendance at exams:
No makeup exams. For any reason. I want to give one exam to all students under the same conditions, so that my assessments of your learning are as consistent as possible. There are very few justifiable reasons for missing an exam. However, if an unavoidable circumstance does arise, keep in mind the overall exam policy which states that if you do miss an exam, I will average your other two exams and subtract 15, and this score will replace the missed exam.
Note that use of any other materials on exams will be considered a violation of the University Academic Integrity policy, and will be reported to the Dean of Students.
