Textbook
One of the things you can do to prepare for the semester is to get to know your textbook early.
The Textbook
For CHY 113, we are using 'Chemistry, Atoms First, 2e,' from openstax.org. This is a free online text, and so there is no excuse for not utilizing the textbook as a resource! If you do not reliably have internet access, you can download a copy of the text. You can also order a print version through Amazon for $65 or download a free Kindle version.
Familiarize yourself with the text:
Open the link and acquaint yourself with how the online text is set up. Find content and see how to move to different chapter/sections. Overall, just learn how to navigate the site.
Check out the various resources the text provides. Sections such as 'Key Equations' will help you in organizing your notes, etc.
Pay particular attention to the 'Student Resources'. There, you can find such things as the solutions manual. The solutions manual provides answers to the odd numbered problems at the back of every chapter. Your homework will only contain even numbered problems, so these odd numbered problems provide excellent practice.
