While this isn’t required, we highly recommend taking a minute to look at your Brightspace profile and settings. You will see your name in the upper-right corner of every Brightspace page. Selecting it will show a menu with several links that will let you customize your experience in Brightspace.

• Under the Profile link, you can upload a picture that your professor and peers will see when you post in discussions and showcase any awards you’ve received through Brightspace.

• Under Notifications, you can set how you would like Brightspace to notify you of various events. You can even enter your cell phone number to receive SMS text messages about the items listed on that page.

• The Account Settings page lets you customize many different aspects of Brightspace, such as your preferred pronouns, font sizes, and how times and dates are displayed.
