Summer Leadership Camp

The Stillman Valley's Business & Technology 2nd Annual FBLA Summer Leadership Camp came to a close on Wednesday, June 5. The camp started on Monday, June 3, and ran from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mrs. Pierson's home. Officers and members participate in a variety of events, including preparing their meals, games and races, building and designing rockets from scratch, and discussing next year's fundraisers. Officers also spent time improving their public speaking skills at the camp through videotaping and sharing ideas on how skills could be improved. Thanks to Mr. Read, we had a green screen available which added a creative dimension to the videotaping. Though the officers ran out of time and were not able to launch their rockets, they are planning on meeting at Mrs. Pierson' home again in July to do so. Thanks to Ms. Murphy on providing the tools needed and the directions for building the rockets. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Pierson's for generously offering her home and meals for the camp. Special thank you also goes out to Mrs. Pierson, Mr. Read and Ms. Murphy for the time they gave in advising students on leadership skills. A special thank you goes out to the parents for getting their son or daughter to the camp! Special thank you to Elizabeth Oltmanns who assisted at the camp, and special thank you to Misael Guerrero and Nicole Bredeson for stopping in and bringing a cake to share as well as providing insights into the FBLA presentations.
