Welcome to Sprout Scouts! This week-long summer camp is designed for high school students aged 14-15, focusing on sustainable agricultural practices in urban settings. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and field experiences.
Join us to explore gardening techniques, connect with local farmers, and apply what you learn to your everyday life.
Sustainable Agriculture is a way of growing food that recognizes the vital health of the soil and the diversity of life that supports and is involved in the food cycle.
Active participation in sustainable, local food systems is one way we can all contribute to lowering our footprint and helping the planet as a whole!
Sprout Scouts offers the opportunity for students to get practical, hands on experience with sustainable agriculture, in an environment which welcomes you whether you've been farming for years or not!
As a free bonus, you'll meet cool new friends and learn more about our complex and beautiful world!
Activities to look forward to!
Starting the week off, Students will learn about the different ways to compost, and create a worm bin to utilize throughout the week!
Students will have the experience of hands on weeding, planting, harvesting, and many other activities to maintain a sustainable garden.
