Mating Strategy and Time Perspective
(Survey Research Lab)
(Survey Research Lab)
Developed by Dr. Martin Shapiro and Krystal Duarte
Overview
People often show a preference for short-term or long-term romantic relationships. These are called mating strategies, and a person's preference is related to individual differences, such as personality traits. There tend to be differences between men and women when it comes to preference for mating strategies (see Video 1).
One individual difference is a person's time perspective, which is how they think about the past, present, and future (see Video 2).
The present study investigates the relationship between a person's mating strategy and their time perspective.
