Mission
The Online Psychology Lab is an open-source website for the collection of activities and experiments that can be used in psychology courses. This website was created by Dr. Martin Shapiro, a professor of Psychology at California State University. The labs were created by Dr. Shapiro, students, and other collaborators. The activity labs were designed to use interactive websites to create engaging, enjoyable, and educational experiences. All the experiment labs were approved by the Internal Review Board (IRB) for the use of human participants in research. Excel spreadsheets of data collected in these experiments are available for individual analysis. Identifying information such as participant’s names, IP addresses, university attending, and locations (longitude and latitude) were removed from the spreadsheets before being made available.
If you have a creative idea for an activity or experiment lab and would like to make it available to other educators, please contact Dr. Shapiro (mashapiro@csufresno.edu). The goal is to create a repository of engaging activities to benefit the experience of students. If you wish to add a lab, you will have the final say in the design of the lab and your name and school will be put at the top of the lab. Creating a lab may also be a good project for student(s).
