Course Description
An overview of the techniques and principles of 2D animation as well as the specific tools used and roles found in the animation industry.
Prerequisites
VMD 105 and (VMD 101 or DSGN 101 or PHOT 100 or ART 125A)

Course Format
This is a remote learning course that will involve regular synchronous online class meetings, periodic one-on-one meetings via Zoom and a number of asynchronous lessons, discussions, exercises and projects published as modules through the Canvas online learning platform.
Textbooks
Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair. ISBN: 9781560100843. New and used copies available through the bookstore and online. Additional reading assignments will be distributed as needed either as handouts or as digital files posted to the class Canvas site.
