VMD 124C: User Interface Design

Course Information

VMD 124C is a short-term 8-week course focused on the exploration of user interface design through exercises and projects. The pace and scope of the class is intended for advanced students looking to expand their skills and portfolio.

Students enrolling in this class are expected to have a solid foundation in the basic theory and software skills needed to participate in an advanced-level design class. Please ensure that you have completed the required prerequisites (see below) or have waived the prerequisites with permission from the instructor and department chair.

Prerequisites

  • Completed VMD 122: Graphic Design II (formerly GRPH 36)

  • Completed VMD 127: User Experience (formerly MMSP 136)

  • At least third semester coursework

Course Format

Biweekly synchronous Zoom meetings, various projects and milestones submitted online through Canvas learning platform.

Required Reading

Various supplemental reading provided by instructor.

Course Technology

This course will require access to Adobe Creative Cloud and other software (see syllabus for details)
