VMD 124B: Package Design
Course Information
VMD 124B is a short-term 8-week course exploring package design through practical exercises design projects. In this class we will focus on practical and aesthetic considerations for creating product packaging including visual/identity design, production and building 3-D prototypes.
The pace and scope of the class is intended for advanced design students looking to expand their skills and design portfolio. It is expected that students will already have a solid foundation in software programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and basic hand-drawing skills.
Prerequisites
Completed VMD 122: Graphic Design II
Recommended Completion VMD 130: Typography I
Recommended Completion VMD 131: Typography II
At least third semester coursework
Course Format
Biweekly synchronous Zoom meetings, various projects and milestones submitted online through Canvas learning platform.

Course Technology
This course will require access to Adobe Creative Cloud and other software (see syllabus for details)
