Extra Help: Extra help is available from your child’s teacher at least one time per week from 2:05pm – 2:45pm. In extra help, your child can get individualized help from their teacher. Extra help is highly recommended as the course teacher knows your child and the course expectations. Extra help can be accessed by all students struggling in any class. A.I.S: Mahopac High School offers Academic Intervention Services (AIS) in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, World Language, Music, and ENL during the school day periods 1-9 in the MHS Library/Media Center. Students may access AIS during their assigned lunch period and/or during an assigned study hall. During lunch periods, students should eat their lunch first, in the cafeteria, before getting a pass from the cafeteria to the library for AIS. Those students who do not wish to eat may go directly to the library for AIS. Students will sign in when they arrive at the library for AIS.
S.T.E.P: The STEP program runs from 2:45pm-4:45pm pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. STEP offers content support and Regents prep for students. STEP is designed to provide instructional support for students who in are in need of content support beyond extra help, have deficiencies in skills, or looking to improve their test scores. Additionally, Regent’s prep is offered through STEP. Please note that some subjects may only be available on one day. Students must provide their own transportation home from this program. Attendance will be taken. Students sign up for STEP through their School Counselor. Please contact your School Counselor for more information.
Credit Recovery: Available for students who failed core courses previously. See your School Counselor for Credit Recovery options.
Regents Review 2.0: A free service presented by New York's public broadcasters through the support of NYSUT and the Association for Public Broadcasting. Regents Review 2.0 includes specially prepared television episodes, online videos, and resources.
