Integrative STEM 6, or iSTEM6, is a one-marking period required course for all 6th graders. iSTEM6 will challenge students to think collaboratively as they solve real-world problems within the STEM fields. Students will learn the fundamentals of the engineering design process, brainstorming, sketching, design, and prototyping as they use technology to develop solutions in order to solve problems. After creating a prototype, students will have to test and evaluation their solutions in groups while determining how their solutions could be improved if they were to be redesigned. iSTEM6 will act as a foundation for high level STEM courses students may take in 7th and 8th grade.
