2026 Fall Sports Registration

Registration for the 2026 Fall Athletic season is now open in the Genesis Parent Portal.  Any student interested in playing a fall sport must register.  After signing into Genesis, parents/guardians can find the “Comprehensive Fall Athletic Registration Form” in the “forms” section.  Families new to the Madison Public Schools District (Harding, St. Vincent’s, etc.) and who are registered to come to the high school, should have received an automated email from Genesis asking to create a new password.  If you are unable to locate that email, please reach out to Rose Mikula (mikular@madisonnjps.org) for assistance with signing in.       

Any student interested in playing a fall sport must have a valid physical that is within 365 days of the start of the first practice for the sport. For a point of reference:

• Football & Girls Tennis - Valid physicals should have a date of 8/10/25 or later

• All Other Fall Sports - Valid physicals should have a date of 8/17/25 or later

*Only the completed Medical Eligibility Form should be uploaded and submitted as part of the registration process. You will not be able to submit your student's registration until this form is ready to be uploaded.  The Medical Eligibility Form provides space for the healthcare provider to share relevant health information with the school if necessary and includes a recommendation regarding the student's ability to participate in athletics. It is important to note that the PPE must be conducted by a licensed physician, advanced practice nurse, or physician assistant who has completed the student athlete cardiac assessment professional development module developed by the NJDOE.

The deadline to register and ensure that students are cleared by our school physician is Friday, July 17th.

Madison Board of Education Policy 2436 - Activity Participation Fee Program requires each pupil in grades nine through twelve participating in a school-sponsored athletic or co-curricular activity to pay a participation fee.  The district is currently switching platforms where the registration fee is collected. Once the platform is available, we will communicate to families with a deadline to make your payment. A failure to pay the fee will result in your student being held out of all practices and competitions.

All questions regarding athletics, can be directed to your child’s coach (see below) or to Ms. Willis (willisn@madisonnjps.org) and Mr. Scheifler (scheiflerr@madisonnjps.org) in the Athletic Office.  Contact information for fall coaches and important dates to put on the calendar are below.  Please note, the practice date listed below is the date of the first official practice.  Please coordinate your summer plans around these start dates.  As a reminder, all student athletes must have 6-days of practice before being permitted to participate in any scrimmage or game.  Any workouts that are held prior to this date are voluntary and do not require a physical.
