Madison High Schools offers students the opportunity to take classes through different pathways. Please see below to learn more about outside course options and available Dual Enrollment through MHS.
MHS offers Virtual Learning High School (VHS) online courses for our students. Often students may take a class through VHS if they are interested in a course that we do not offer or if there is a conflict with courses in their schedule. If you are interested in learning more, please discuss with your school counselor during your scheduling meeting.

Kean University
Holocaust & Genocide, taught at MHS by an MHS humanities teacher.
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU)
Honors Entrepreneurship, taught by an MHS business teacher.
Global Politics, taught by an MHS humanities teacher.
Intro to Law, taught by an MHS history teacher.
The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)
Honors Tech, Engineering, and Design III, taught by an MHS technology teacher.

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY)
Offers online high school courses.
Virtual Learning High School (VHS)

Drew University
Offers college courses to MHS senior students, taught at Drew by a Drew professor.
County College of Morris (CCM)
Allows MHS students to take college credit courses and earn college credit.
Each offer something unique that can be fitting to students at MHS. Often times this is offered for upperclassmen, pending a students schedule and any scheduling restraints. Cost, grading scale, and syllabi vary for each school and program.
The best time to learn more about these offerings and discuss if it could be a fit for you is during your scheduling conference with your counselor. Being each student has a personal academic track, more details can be discussed with your counselor incorporating your post high school goals.
Athletic Eligibility at Madison High School
Fall Eligibility Status
To be eligible for athletic competition during the first semester of grades 10-12 (fall sports), students must have passed and earned 30.0 credits (6 academic courses) from their previous school year.
Winter Eligibility Status
Students must maintain their grades and be passing 15.0 credits (6 academic courses) mid-year.
Spring Eligibility Status
To be eligible for athletic competition during the second semester of the current school year (spring), students must be passing the equivalent of 15.0 credits (passing 6 academic courses by mid-year).
