Description: Xello is the college and career planning database that MMSD uses with students 6th-12th grade. Xello offers a wide variety in college and career information, as well as planning/processing information for students.

Starting in 6th grade students access Xello through their Academic and Career Planning lessons.

Xello Family Discussion: Here are some questions to start off a conversation with your students on their Xello account!

1. Do you use your Xello account? How have you used it recently?

2. What does your career matchmaker suggest for you? Do you agree with what they suggest? Why/ Why not?

3. Do you have any schools or careers saved in Xello? What did you like about those schools or careers?

4. What criteria are you most concerned with when picking a college? (examples: majors, location, academic fit, social fit, cost) Have you added filters in Xello to narrow down your search based off your criteria?
